A kayaker that got into trouble near Huka Falls has been pulled out of the Waikato River by a rescue helicopter.
A police spokeswoman said the woman was kayaking in the rapids above Huka Falls, near Taupo, when she fell out and made it to a nearby rock.
Police were called to the scene at 11.50am.
The Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was called around 12.45pm and rescued the woman off the rock using a long line and basket.
A Greenlea Rescue Helicopter spokesman said a member of the Ruapehu Alpine Rescue Organisation was put down the line to pull the woman to safety.
"She is safe and well with no injuries. She is good as gold," he said.
The woman was stranded on the side of the river below the lookout bridge in the narrow gorge immediately above the falls.
