The blaze in which two children were injured, one critically, is believed to be suspicious.
Two children were taken to hospital with burns after the fire at a building in Hastings. One is still in a critical condition in intensive care and the second child is now in a stable condition.
Five adults were taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation and have all been discharged.

Emergency services were initially called to the Heretaunga St West address at 2.30pm today.
The damaged building, near the Stortford St intersection, is believed to have been vacant at the time.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed unusual activity near the property before the fire.
