A New Zealander, described as shy and quiet by his mother, has been found dead in Perth after going missing earlier this week.
John Ria Poe, a 31-year-old originally from Te Atatu, was reported missing just over a week ago. His body was found yesterday afternoon, Western Australia Police said.
"We're just waiting for him to be released," his Auckland based mother Alice Poe told the Herald.
John Poe's sister has flown to Perth to bring his body home.
"He's a quiet guy and he's been on his own."
The former Rutherford College student liked his own company, she said.
There were no suspicious circumstances, police said.
Detectives and coronial inquiry officers had been on the scene since he was found at 5pm yesterday near Kwinana Freeway in Bertram, Perth.
Tributes have been posted on Facebook this afternoon, with one person posting "sending out much love and heartfelt condolences to the Poe family".
Another said "rest in Peace mate. Hope you guys are coping alright".
Poe was last seen near a Coles Distribution Centre at Perth Airport on Wednesday September 6.
His vehicle was found the following day, also in the suburb of Bertram.
