It's another frosty start for much of the country.
At 6.15am today the country's coldest location was Alexandra, which was almost -3C, and the warmest area was only 7.8C - at Westport.
Hamilton fell to zero overnight and was only 0.1C shortly after 6am. MetService said it felt like -3C at that time in Hamilton.
The temperature in Auckland fell to 4C overnight and Wellington was recording 3.3C about 6am.
Christchurch residents are waking to a temperature of zero, and expecting a top of 13C. In Dunedin, it's more than 4C and expected to rise to 14C.

MetService says the country can expect dry, calm weather and chilly nights all week as a ridge of high pressure moves over the country.
