Police have appealed for three young men who helped a fatally injured man at a party in Auckland to contact them.
Auckland City Police are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man that occurred in Haughey Ave, Mt Roskill, early Saturday morning.
The dead man was one of a number of separate groups that met up at the Gemini Bar in Otahuhu and then travelled to 19 Haughey Ave, sometime after 2.30am, to continue socialising.
Police tonight appealed for three men - who have been described as Maori and Polynesian, aged 18 to 25 years - who spent time assisting the young man and putting him into the recovery position.
"These three stayed with the young man and continued to assist him after others had left the address, and I am confident that they will be able to help us piece together what has occurred," Detective Inspector Aaron Pascoe said.
"This group will know who they are and we need their help."
"We are also trying to identify the occupants of a grey Audi 4-door sedan, described as having a rounded shaped body, who left the address shortly before police arrived."
If anyone can assist they are asked to call 09 3026 557.
Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
