A person was seriously injured when the car they were in hit a power pole on a flooded Auckland road following this evening's intense thunderstorm.
The crash happened on Alfriston-Ardmore Rd around 300m from the Alfriston Rd intersection.
A St John Ambulance spokesman said one person was transported to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
The ambulance was alerted by the fire service at 9.05pm and located the car at 9.19pm, he said.
A police spokeswoman said emergency services were first called at 9.04pm, and police, first aiders and the fire service were on the scene.
The car had hit a fence and a power pole but the pole was still standing, she said.
