A second teenage boy has been arrested a month after a dairy was robbed by two males armed with a tomahawk and a kitchen knife.

Canterbury Police have arrested and charged the 16-year-old after the aggravated robbery of the J-Mart Dairy in Opawa, Christchurch on April 13.

Two males armed with a kitchen knife and a tomahawk entered the shop and stole cash and cigarettes from the sole attendant on duty, police said.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested two days after the robbery.

Following an investigation, both boys have now been charged.

The 16-year-old will appear in Christchurch Youth Court on Friday. The 15-year-old will reappear in the youth court on May 18.

Police are not seeking anyone else over the crime and could not comment further as the matter was before the court.
