Arrests after RSA poppy donation box stolen during ram raid of Northland petrol station

By -

Three people have been arrested following the ram raid of a Northland petrol station.

The Paparoa petrol station was ram raided on Wednesday, April 26 and included the theft of an RSA poppy donation box.

Inspector Justin Rogers said two 18-year-old men were arrested and charged with burglary and a 16-year-old male has been referred to Youth Aid.

Police are still looking for a fourth person in relation to the incident.

Mr Rogers said the trio had admitted their involvement in the incident and police would like to thank the members of the public who came forward with information which assisted police in making the arrests.

"Though it is disappointing these young men have committed this burglary and made poor decisions on the night, it's encouraging that they have come forward and it's hoped they can put this right with the service station owner and the local RSA," Mr Rogers said.
