A person is being treated for injuries after the vehicle they were driving went off a cliff near Raglan.
Northern fire communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said firefighters were called to Okete Rd at 10.46am after reports of a car plunging down a bank.
The car landed in the Okete Stream, eventually becoming fully submerged.
However, the sole occupant managed to get out safely out.
The driver was being treated by St John Ambulance staff but it's unclear on the nature of the injuries.
The vehicle remains under water, Phillips said.
