Wellington police are hoping to reunite a war commendation with its rightful owner.
A framed scroll was found at a house in Naenae last year.
It appears to have been awarded to the family of Private Lumby, who died World War II.
Ben Hurley of Hutt Valley CIB said they want to speak to anyone who recognises the scroll, or knows the people it may belong to.
"This could be very special to the family, and could mean a great deal to someone to have it returned to them.
"At this point, we can't be sure that this belongs to the family of a Wellington person, so we would appreciate the wider public sharing this around.
"We need the public's help."
