Fire crews called to false alarm at Hawke's Bay Prison

The Hastings Fire Service were called to Hawke's Bay Regional Prison this morning.

A central fire communications spokesman said a prison alarm had activated, but could not provide any more details at this stage.

A Hastings fire service spokesman said it had been a false alarm, and crews left the prison before midday.

Police were alerted but not called to the prison.
