The Police Dive Squad has completed a search in the Manawatu River after a missing man's car was found parked nearby.

Constable Gareth Hughes of Palmerston North Search and Rescue said efforts to find Christopher Neal, 36, were ongoing.

Neal was last seen in Masterton on Monday morning, and was reported missing on Wednesday.

His 2016 Holden Colorado was found near Ballance Bridge shortly after the report was made, while items of his were found at the edge of the river.

Police are not treating his disappearance as suspicious.

The Police National Dive Squad found nothing in its search near Balance Bridge today.

Search efforts will continue on the river this afternoon with the use of kayaks, and will move the search south, from Ballance Bridge to the area between Fitzherbert Ave Bridge.

Neal's family have been at the scene of the search since Wednesday evening.
