A person is being treated for smoke inhalation after a large blaze in a West Auckland boarding house.
Fire Service northern communications manager Dallas Ramsay said the Titirangi Rd property was engulfed by fire when crews arrived just before 6am.
She said everyone inside the burning building had got out.
Six fire crews were at the scene of the blaze.
A stretch of one of West Auckland's busy roads was cordoned off as firefighters battled the blaze.
Traffic was being diverted around the burning house, which was between Pleasant Rd and Parker Ave.
Two fire investigators were now at the gutted property trying to work out what caused the blaze.
