Drink driver arrested after giving electronic monitoring the slip


A 58-year-old Dillmanstown, West Coast, man recently sentenced to home detention for drink-driving was arrested in Kumara early today after he cut off his electronic monitoring belt.

Police said Community Corrections, along with the electronic monitoring contractor Armorguard, reported the man as absent from his address about 1am today.

He was found a short time later in nearby Kumara and taken into custody.
