New Zealand sport's hot new glamour couple Shaun Johnson and Kayla Cullen are following in the footsteps of Richie McCaw and heading to Kaikoura this weekend.
The 26-year-old Kiwis halfback and the 24-year-old Silver Fern will fly by helicopter into the quake-ravaged town for a special sporting afternoon with locals on Saturday.
Residents seeking a reprieve from the earthquake stress are being invited to join the top sporting couple for a family touch tournament and league and netball sessions at Kaikoura Primary School.
There will also be a chance to play alongside Johnson in a touch tournament.
"It is important that the people of Kaikoura have a smile on their faces, we have a whole programme to brighten the folks up," said Rod Duke, managing director of Rebel Sport's parent company.
Duke said the star couple will have a whole lot of sports gear to give away.
The couple will be returning from the United Kingdom where the NRL star has been playing for the Kiwis in the Four Nations tournament.
The visit is also part of a fundraising drive for new sports facilities in the town.
