A man has made off with cigarettes and cash from a dairy on Auckland's North Shore this afternoon.

A man has made off with cigarettes and cash from a dairy on Auckland's North Shore this afternoon.

The man, who was believed to be unarmed, entered the Salisbury Superette, in Birkdale shortly before 1pm.

Police were called to the store, on Salisbury Rd.

A police spokeswoman said inquiries into the robbery were ongoing.

However, she said CCTV footage was of too poor quality to be released and a description of the robber was not yet available.

She said no one was injured in the robbery.
