Police are investigating a suspicious house fire in rural Manawatu.

A police spokeswoman confirmed no one was hurt in the fire, but said police were looking for a possible suspect.

Central Fire Communications' shift manager Mike Wanoa said emergency services were called to the fire on Rangiwahia Rd, 50km northeast of Feilding, about 8.30pm.

A single-storey house was "fully involved", but everyone inside had got out.

Up to 20 firefighters from Kimbolton, Rangiwahia, Cheltenham and Apiti volunteer brigades were still at the scene late tonight. Manawatu rural firefighters had also come to help, Wanoa said.
