Six fire crews are at the scene of a laundromat fire in Wellington.

A fire has broken out at a laundromat in Wellington.

A fire service spokesman said firefighters were called to the laundromat on Waitoa Rd in Hataitai about 5pm.

Six fire engines are dousing the fire, which was well involved when the crews arrived.

It has now been contained to the laundromat, which is a single-storey building.
