Avondale residents have joined in the launch of a new vehicle which shares the name of their street.
Holden celebrated the New Zealand launch of its new Colorado vehicle by throwing an impromptu street party for the 17 households in Colorado Pl.
Three households were extra spoilt, with a total of $25,000 worth of prizes awarded to them.
Holden New Zealand managing director Kristian Aquilina said they wanted to do something extraordinary to mark the vehicle's arrival.
"Given the name of the street, [we] thought this is the most appropriate place in the whole of the country to do so."
Prizes included the use of a Holden Colorado for a year, won by Frank Hanley, and return flights for four on American Airlines to Colorado, won by the Au family.
The Ford family won the $5000 donation to charity, which will go to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Residents were also able to collect autographs from Holden ambassadors and friends of the brand, including four-time Bathurst champion Greg Murphy and 2011 Rugby World Cup winning All Black Stephen Donald.
