Two people are injured and a car is on its side following a crash near Huntly on the Waikato expressway.
The car crashed on an off ramp and police were notified about 3.25pm, a police spokeswoman said.
Part of the road is closed and the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter is in attendance.
The spokeswoman said only one car was involved and there were two patients.
One patient had serious injuries, while the other had moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, a pregnant woman was flown to Whakatane Hospital earlier in the day following a crash in Opotiki.
The 21-year-old local woman was involved in a "nose to tail" crash in the township.
The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was called out about 9.25am to take the woman to hospital due to her pregnant condition and the nature of her injuries.
She was the front seat passenger and suffered head and back injuries, helicopter pilot Liam Brettkelly said.
