The Southern Motorway has reopened but there will be long delays for motorists after a large truck crashed across both lanes near Bombay today.
The truck slid from the southbound lanes across to the northbound lanes into a bank.
No other vehicles were involved and the driver of the truck has been checked by paramedics.
Other motorists travelling north will be held up as the truck is recovered. Diversions are in place to exit the motorway at Bombay and return at Ramarama.
Police asked for patience from drivers going in both directions and that southbound motorists do not delay traffic by rubbernecking past the scene.
The cause of the crash will be investigated.
