Fire has destroyed a farming dealership in Invercargill overnight, where crews faced both roaring heat and freezing weather to save surrounding businesses.
The blaze at Southland Farm Machinery broke out just before midnight.
More than 25 firefighters were called to help get the flames under control, arriving to find building fully alight.
It was snowing, with below-zero temperatures, when emergency services were called to the scene.
Invercargill senior station officer Duane Shannon said crews managed to save a bakery, a car yard and the tractors that were outside the company.
He said the shell of the Southland Farm Machinery building was still standing but everything inside it had been consumed by fire.
There were no reports of injuries.
