Queenstown firefighters have put out the flames at a house which caught alight in the early hours of this morning.

Fire crews from Frankton and Queenstown were called to a property on Edinburgh Drive about 2am.

Firefighters arrived to find the house smoke-logged, but there was no one inside.

A fire safety officer is expected at the property about 8am today. However, the blaze is not being treated as suspicious, authorities said.
