Police are hunting a man who can be identified by a tattoo of a swastika and a dagger on his left forearm.

Kerry McKenzie is believed to be actively evading police and is suspected of burglary.

McKenzie has a warrant for his arrest for breaching his home detention conditions.

Despite numerous efforts to find him at previous known addresses, and inquiries with associates and accommodation-providers, the 42-year-old has not been located.

He is believed to have been sleeping rough recently in Auckland and police believed he was involved in a burglary in the same area.

It is thought he has connections in Rotorua and he has travelled there in the past two weeks.

In addition to his distinguishing swastika tattoo, McKenzie has a tattoo of the grim reaper on his right forearm and a scorpion on his left leg.

Police said McKenzie should not be approached and anyone who sees him or knows where he is should call 111 immediately.
