Man, 55, injured in Dunedin assault

A 55-year-old man has been seriously injured after an assault at a Green Island property.

The man was taken to Dunedin Hospital by St John ambulance about 3.15pm today in a serious condition, a spokesman said.

Four police cars were at the Church St address this afternoon and two people were being spoken to.

Neighbours spoken to by the Otago Daily Times this afternoon said they did not see or hear anything out of the ordinary.

Police are investigating the incident and no further information was available at this time.
