A person has been freed from their car after a crash on Auckland's North Shore.

The crash happened this morning at the intersection of Glenfield Rd and Manuka Rd in Glenfield.

One person was trapped following the crash, but they were pulled out by emergency services.

A Fire Service spokesman said the person had minor injuries.

Earlier this morning a person was trapped in an overturned car after a crash in the Bay of Plenty.

A Fire Service spokesman said two cars crashed at 6.32am this morning on State Highway 5, near Maraeroa Rd, at the turn-off to Mamaku.

Fire crews were working to free one person who was trapped in one of the cars.

The road is blocked by emergency crews, however, they are hopeful of reopening the road soon.
