A speeding car smashed through a shop window before fleeing the scene in Dunedin last night, according to a witness.

Police say no one was injured when a vehicle crashed through the front window of Dunedin furniture and homeware store McKenzie and Willis, about 9.50pm.

According to the witness, the person then drove away, leaving a huge trail of shattered glass along Cumberland St.
