Arcing powerlines have sparked a house fire in Warkworth this morning.

Three fire crews were called to the fire on Matakana Rd about 8.20am.

A Fire Service spokesman said the powerlines supplying the house had arced, sparking the blaze.

He said the fire had not engulfed the home but flames had spread through the house, and fire crews were working to access the ceiling cavity.
