Nelson Police are on the lookout for witnesses to a street robbery which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.

During the robbery, which took place around 1.30am near the Montgomery carpark, a dark blue wallet was taken from the victim.

Police are searching for the bi-folded wallet which had a dark blue and red strip through the middle.

It contained a driver's licence and miscellaneous cards, and was possibly discarded in the Hardy Street and Church Lane vicinity after being taken from the victim.
