A stellar sunny day is in store for much of New Zealand, save the far north.
MetService duty forecaster Kyle Lee said after a chilly start everywhere except Northland would get to bask in the sun today.
A few morning showers were possible in Auckland but these would be mainly north of the city.
Rain was forecast for much of the day in Northland as a front moved over the region.
"Otherwise it looks like it's good weather throughout both islands today," Mr Lee said.
A glorious blue sky day was forecast for Wellington and Christchurch.
Mr Kyle said there would be a few showers on the West Coast but "nothing significant".
The far south could expect a sprinkling but in Dunedin it would clear with high cloud and fine spells expected overhead.
Temperatures throughout the country would be in the warm late teens and early 20s.
Auckland would see a pleasant high of 21C, Wellington 18C and, after a crisp 6C overnight low, Christchurch would warm to 20C.
