Two injured after car and cart collide in Taranaki

Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash between a car and cart in Taranaki this morning.

St John Ambulance attended the traffic incident on Junction Rd in Inglewood - near New Plymouth - which they said was between two vehicles.

Two patients with minor injuries have been taken to Taranaki Hospital.

A police spokesman said they were alerted to the incident shortly after 10am.

He said the incident was between a car and cart, but could not provide any further details about what happened.

A Fire Service spokesman said a fire truck from the Inglewood Brigade attended the incident, along with a New Plymouth rescue crew.

However, they arrived to find no one trapped and two people with minor injuries.

The spokesman said the Fire Service assisted with traffic control and the clean up afterwards.
