A man has been arrested over the aggravated robbery of a West Auckland jewellery store.
More than $200,000 worth of jewellery was stolen from the Lotus Gold Jewellery shop in Lynn Mall on Tuesday morning last week.
Police today said a 39-year-old man from Riverhead had been charged with aggravated robbery, unlawful taking, attempted theft and failing to stop.
He would remain in police custody until Saturday, when he would appear in Waitakere District Court.

A 28-year-old man was hailed a hero after he stepped in to try to stop the robbery.
Tavita Milo told the Herald on Sunday he had noticed "something wasn't quite right" at the jewellery store.
He watched in disbelief as a calm and well-built man walked out of the shop, dropped a screwdriver on the floor and headed for the nearest exit.
Mr Milo followed the man and snatched his bag through an open car window.
He then started sprinting to the nearest police station, about 100m away.
His actions clawed back about $50,000 worth of jewellery, but the alleged robber still managed to get away with handfuls of necklaces, bangles and bracelets.
"I can only imagine what it must have been like for that girl in the shop. My heart was racing," Mr Milo said.
Gold Merchants managing director Pravin Kumar said the offender had threatened the shop assistant at Lotus Gold Jewellery and ordered her to lie down.
"He then broke into the display cabinet, taking a substantial amount of high value gold jewellery."
Mr Kumar released CCTV footage of the incident last week as part of an appeal for information.
