Several court cases were forced to reschedule after a number of higher court judges fell sick from a stomach bug after attending a conference at a luxury hotel last week.
Eighteen judges out of 53 that attended a two-day conference at North Island's Chateau Tongariro Hotel last week, contracted a gastro bug, judicial office spokesperson confirmed.
The spokesperson said the bug was "short-lived" but the cause of it was unclear.
All judges were recovered or had nearly recovered, she said.
Three Court of Appeal cases and about two Wellington High Court cases were in the process of being rescheduled.
A room at the Chateau Tongariro Hotel can cost as much as $400 a night.
