Police are appealing for public help in their hunt for a missing Ranui man.

Waitemata police are looking for Wilhelmus 'Bill' Staijen who has gone missing from Metcalfe Rd in Ranui, West Auckland.

Police say they have concerns for the men's wellbeing due to a medical condition and ask members of the public to forward any information in relation to his whereabouts.

Bill is described as a 43-year-old male who is 180cm tall, of medium build and has a Dutch accent.

He has light brown short hair, with a full beard and he was last seen wearing blue jeans, black jacket, running shoes and a cap.

Police would like to hear from anyone who sees Bill, or knows where he is, and ask them to contact the Henderson Police Station on (09) 839 0600.
