A group had to be rescued by police after their 4WD vehicle got stuck in the Rock and Pillar Range of Central Otago yesterday.

Dunedin police, along with the Dunedin four wheel drive club, entered the range from Pateoroa after police were called about the incident about 4.30pm yesterday.

The group were successfully located and assisted.
