A man who had one leg severed and the other crushed in a horrific motorcycle crash in Auckland last week remains in a critical condition.
The man was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a truck on the Royal Rd overbridge in Massey about 4.40pm last Thursday.
He suffered critical injuries and was taken to Auckland City Hospital.
A Waitemata police spokeswoman said the man's left leg was severed from the shin and his right leg was crushed. He also received a serious arm injury.
The truck driver was treated for moderate injuries and was "understandably traumatised" by the ordeal, she said.
He was working with Victim Support.
The spokeswoman said the crash was still under investigation by the Serious Crash Unit.
