Police are still asking for witnesses to the fatal crash in Oamaru where an elderly pedestrian was killed by a wayward car.
The fatal crash happened at 11:30 this morning, at the corner of Thames and Eden Sts in the North Otago town.
Fire, police and multiple ambulances attended the scene of the crash where it's believed a vehicle drove onto the footpath, colliding with three pedestrians and killing a 67-year-old man. It then continued back onto the street where it struck other vehicles.
Police said in a statement that a 70-year-old female suffered multiple injuries and was transported to Dunedin Hospital, while a 13-year-old girl was treated at Oamaru Hospital.
All three drivers involved in the crash were also taken to Oamaru Hospital.
Police thanked all those who had assisted at the scene.
"Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased man and those injured in today's crash."
