The family of a dead teenager are upset that their local council have attempted to cover his headstone, which bears song titles containing expletives.
Vincent Drummond-Paulo's is buried in the in the Kelvin Grove Cemetery at Palmerston North.
The Manawatu Standard reported that the back of the 19-year-old's headstone is inscribed with the song titles Black, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Sickman, Do I Wanna Know, and I Don't Fxxk With You.
The family of a person buried nearby has Palmerston North City Council to cover Mr Drummond-Paulo's headstone, but the move has upset his family.
City council parks and property manager John Brenkley told NZ Newswire a sheet of plastic was taped to the back to cover the F-word.
"What happened was the family behind the headstone had asked if we would cover it up temporarily while their mother visited," he said.
"They were concerned it might offend the mother. We put the cover up and took it down after about a week.
He said the council was working with both families to try to resolve the issue.
