The motorcyclist found dead after a crash in Hamilton on Saturday morning was 29-year-old Raglan man Nathan William Nolan.
Mr Nolan's body was found by a crashed motorcycle near the intersection of Baverstock and Brymer Roads about 12.50am.
"He was unconscious when found and rescue breathing and compressions were commenced by attending Police staff and then fire fighters before ambulance officers arrived," said Waikato road policing manager Inspector Freda Grace.
"Despite these efforts, Mr Nolan was unable to be revived."
Mrs Grace said Saturday's tragedy was the 24th death on Waikato roads this year and she questioned whether the motoring public were doing enough to keep themselves and others safe.
"The crash is the subject of a number of investigations, including one by the Waikato Serious Crash Unit.
"But perhaps the most searching questions come from the families of those killed on our roads this year- the WHY? Why did this happen? Why can't these deaths be prevented and why are 24 families now without their loved ones?"
