To the woman who was oblivious of council signs and allowed her unleashed dog to repeatedly chase ducks through the pond on Mahuhu Reserve this morning. There is a duck with a damaged wing which it persisted in charging. This has happened previously with another dog and locals were left to care for the hurt bird.

It's inorganic collection time soon in Mt Albert, and lots of old cathode-ray TVs are being thrown out. Someone is going around and systematically smashing open the TVs so they can get at the magnets at the back of the tube, which are worth a few dollars somewhere. I'd love to find out who's buying up these magnets, and dump a huge pile of smashed up TV sets (which the collectors now have to handle) outside where they work or live.

What a mess. Where does it all come from? A medal for the inorganic clean-up crew this week. I hope they are well paid.

What is it with these people that drive around playing really loud music from their vehicles? I just hope they can't claim on ACC when they are deaf in a few years' time!

New mothers in Auckland are very fortunate to have such an amazing facility that is the Warkworth Birthing Centre. I spent three nights there after the birth of my son, and cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did for us. The level of care is amazing, from the most caring and patient ladies I've ever met! The midwives and doctors at North Shore Hospital are also first class. Thank you.

Well done to the train conductor in Butterfly Creek for stopping people jumping the queue.
