What a triumph Bach Musica NZ and inspired orchestra with soloists Patricia Wright and Edward Laurenson achieved with Brahms' German Requiem at the Auckland Town Hall. And Rita Paczian conducted this demanding work without a score. Along with Canteloube's Songs of the Auvergne this concert was riveting!

What is it with muppets who want to tail-gate you on the motorway in an 80km/h zone trying to force you to go faster or move over? Guess what, if I'm going the speed limit in the right hand lane I'm not going to move over no matter how close you get, nor if you flash your lights at me. If you're running late it's not my problem. Now, if you have a red or blue flashing light that's a different matter entirely.

A big thank you to the many bus drivers on the North Shore who wait patiently while my Down syndrome daughter takes time to walk up the steps of the bus, wave her card and then walk to a spare seat and sit down. Thank you for taking the time to wait until she is properly seated before moving the bus on. It is much appreciated.

Please forget the City Rail Link project and build a rail link to our international airport like nearly every major city in the world! Why not a monorail?

I frequently make a 3km trip on my mobility scooter, and if it happens to be shortly after three in the afternoon, the trip is made delightful by the school children, primary and secondary, on their way home. So many of them give me a smile, or a cheery hello. Or even amuse themselves, with much giggling, pretending I am chasing them. Smiles all round.

Which moron decided that a one-tonne car should pay the same road user charges as a 3.5-tonne truck? Are they trying to encourage the public into fuel-efficient cars or not?
