To the lady whose dog knocked over my little boy at the Okahu Bay playground: Shame on you for being such a bad dog owner and for being so uncaring. My 3-year-old son was playing when your dog ran up to him, jumped on him and completely bowled him over. You did not even have the decency to ask if my son was okay. You left your dog at the children's playground without a leash on while you were busy having a personal training session. Your dog should have been on a leash.

My elderly grandparents would like to thank the gentleman who recently approached them and changed a tyre on their small white Mazda, which had been damaged near the Highland Park shops. They are very grateful that a stranger was so generous in taking time out and coming to help them when they were in need.

If you are shopping in a wheelchair, or are not 6ft tall and need crutches just to stand, just imagine when you reach the checkout being told you can't use Eftpos as the cord is not now long enough for you to reach the machine. What am I meant to do with my purchase? Put it back on the shelf? Eftpos machines used to sit on the counter, where they could be reached very easily if the shopper was sitting in a wheelchair or leaning on crutches. Now anyone with any sort of disability is once again discriminated against.

A huge thank you to the very kind person who found my phone at the Eagles concert at Mt Smart Stadium and handed it to police. Hubby went bright and early to collect it for me from Auckland Central police station the following morning. Needless to say I was very relieved to have it back!

It's time kids' triathlons and similar events are relocated from Narrow Neck. I work an afternoon shift in South Auckland and it took me an hour to reach Belmont on Sunday. A peninsula is not the place to hold an event this size. If there was a natural disaster the consequences would be horrendous.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the honest person who handed my diamond ring into the office at Auckland Zoo. I was sick with worry over losing it as it was my mother's ring and held great sentimental value.
