The crowd behaviour at the England v Sri Lanka Cricket World Cup game in Wellington yesterday has been commended.
Police said around 18,500 fans attended the fixture at the Wellington Regional Stadium and no arrests were made.
Seven people were evicted from the ground for alcohol-related issues over the course of the day.
Inspector Brett Amas said the supportive crowd were obviously focussed on enjoying the game.
"It is great to see families and the kids out to enjoy another great game of cricket.
"The whole event has run very smoothly from our perspective and it is a credit to Wellington Regional Stadium and the ICC Cricket World Cup organisers."
Mr Amas said patrols in the city and along the waterfront also reported no issues requiring Police assistance
