Six children have been taken to hospital after a massive inflatable slide collapsed at a Wairarapa A&P show.
The collapse occurred on the Mammoth Slide at the Masterton Trust House A & P Show at the Solway Showgrounds in Masterton, around 1pm, site manager Ally O'Neill said.
"It's a big, blow-up slide that goes quite high in the air. Kids go up there and slide down," he said.
"Police and WorkSafe New Zealand are currently investigating. The Mammoth Slide was immediately closed to the public.
"We are very concerned about the children and until the investigation has been completed we are unable to comment further."
The Mammoth slide is advertised as "the world's largest inflatable slide".
Mr O'Neill said 4000-5000 people attending the event. The slide was one of 16 rides at the event.
