Four people driving in Northland suffered minor injuries when their car ended up in a river this morning.
The car was travelling on Gorge Rd at Maungaturoto at 9.15am when the incident occurred, Northern Fire Communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said.
"The car's left the road and gone over a bank, into the river," he said.
The car's four occupants managed to escape the vehicle and suffered minor injuries, Mr Phillips said.
No other vehicles were involved.
Another car suffered a watery demise this morning when it rolled into a river in Te Kuiti shortly before 11am.
There was no one in the car at the time and how it ended up in the river remained a mystery, Mr Phillips said.
