There is traffic congestion on two Auckland motorways after two separate incidents this afternoon.
A man threatening to jump from an overbridge on SH 16 closed a section of the motorway near Lincoln Rd and a breakdown on the Harbour Bridge has brought traffic there to a standstill.
Police were still on their way to the Harbour Bridge breakdown, that NZTA reported as happening shortly before 3pm.
The breakdown was blocking northbound traffic and NZTA was warning of heavy delays in the area.
Police were called to the Lincoln Rd overbridge on the North-Western motorway about 2.20pm after reports a man was attempting to jump from the structure.
A police spokeswoman said the road was closed while police talked the man down, which happened about 3.40pm.
The road was now open and the man was being cared for, she said.
