As someone who lived on the border of a lovely eastern suburb reserve where the council installed a flying fox, "within their guidelines", I say to those affected at Stonefields, that regardless of what Desley Simpson of the Orakei Local Board says about "resolving" issues, it has to be removed. We too were told issues around noise would be resolved but they were not. The incessant sound, both mechanical and children screaming, along with the odd late-night party, will remain intrusive and unpleasant.

I had a biopsy at the Takapuna, Auckland breast clinic. The women working there put me completely at ease and made a trying experience totally bearable. They are nothing short of angels and I am so grateful.

My 21-year-old daughter with a learner's licence has a lower excess than my 20-year-old son with a full licence. I don't know how that works . . .

After a week of deplorable service from Spark's NZ fibreoptic team, their Philippines-based call centre employee stayed at work an extra hour to sort it out. I will never complain about offshore call centres again. Thanks Hams.

Watched the All Blacks v Wales replay on Sunday afternoon. Pity that for an 80-minute game of rugby we have to endure 40 minutes of ads.

I was fortunate enough to go to the Rolling Stones concert at Mt Smart Stadium and I was extremely impressed by the end-to-end organisation of the event. The transport, frequency and visibility of the signage and the number and friendliness of support staff all helpedmake a fantastic night topped off by the conversations with friendly Kiwis met along the way. Well done to the organisers. You could not have done it any better.
