Teina Pora and his legal team head to London today, ahead of his Privy Council hearing.
Pora was jailed twenty years ago for the rape and murder of Susan Burdett.
He's appealing the convictions, with new evidence around his confession and around another suspect, Malcolm Rewa.
The short hearing is set down for next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Lawyer Jonathan Krebs says they're heading over early so jet lag isn't an issue.
He says it's a very important case for Pora, so they want to ensure they're on their mettle next week.
The case is likely to be the last New Zealand sends to the Privy Council, after the establishment of our Supreme Court in 2004.
