A woman suffered hand injuries in a lawnmower incident yesterday.
The woman, aged in her 60s, was injured in the Horowhenua area before noon yesterday.
She was treated by St John Ambulance paramedics, who then transported her to Levin to be picked up by the Palmerston North-based Rescue Helicopter.
She was flown to Hutt Hospital for specialist treatment, pilot Lance Burns said.
The helicopter was called to rush her to hospital because of "the time sensitive nature of her injuries", he said.
A spokesman for Hutt Hospital said the woman had been admitted, and was in a stable condition.
Anita Halbert, St John Ambulance central communications centre team manager, said staff were called to the medical centre in Levin to treat the woman about midday.
She was in a minor condition, she said.
