The man accused of assaulting cricketer Jesse Ryder has had a pre-trial hearing unexpectedly delayed this morning.
The 38-year old builder is charged with injuring Ryder with reckless disregard for his safety, outside a Merivale bar in Christchurch last year.
He's pleaded not guilty.
All other details have been suppressed.

The man was expected to appear in court at 10.30am for a possible trial date to be set this morning.
However his hearing was taken off the court list for unspecified reasons.
A new date is yet to be set.
